Friends and fellow writers,

I am both humbled and excited by my appointment as administrator of this
SIM group. I wrote my first ever log in any play-by-email game at the
TFE Academy as Cadet Garroway. Admiral Austin Star was in charge, and
Suzy was backing him up as Amy DaSilva. Now I get to give back a little
of what TFE has given me all these years, and I hope I can do justice to
everyone that has come before. Many good people -- not just writers,
players, or SIMmers, but /people/ -- have I met and seen come and go.
But TFE has always been here, and though I've taken my leave a couple of
times, I've always been pulled back by the prospect of rekindling
friendships and writing a few more lines in a good story.

As I said, I'm humbled and excited. Humbled that I've been given this
opportunity which I consider an honor and responsibility. Excited that
I get the chance to pick up the reigns on something I believe in.
However, I'm saddened that Susy had to step down for me to do it. I'm
glad she'll still be around, though, and I hope to make TFE as enjoyable
for her as she's made it for me. Enjoyable for all of you... for all of
/us/.

Well, I've let the sap run a little, so I'll have to switch gears while
I still have my macho dignity...

I look forward to assisting the SIMs in any way I can to insure their
stability and entertainment value, and intend to set our foundations a
little firmer so that we can expand and grow once again.

The catch is that I'm just one guy with big ideas, and I'll need
everyone who can help to step forward and volunteer a little extra time
and effort to make them happen. I've been a big fan of the old adage,
"you get out what you put in." I've also been a proponent of
meritocracies, where people are awarded based on the value of their
behavior and effort. So every little bit counts with me.

Together we can keep TFE plugging along, and make it something we can
call our own.

Thank you,

Robert
