[Galaxy] 2158, Apr 6 - A/CO Duty Log - Cmdr. Roger Finney

Timo hit the comm button. "Transport complete, Sir. Dey're all back on  
board."
 
  When Rog heard that he said,"Excellent Timo. Emergency transport  Cmdr. 
Fraiser and the Armory personnel as well. We're pulling back from here  asap." 
Turning to Sanderson he said,"Sanderson, have the other ships  acknowledged the 
order to pull back? Let me know when they do." Tapping his comm  button he 
said,"Timo, when Ian shows up, have him report to my Ready Room for a  debrief. 
Katrina, I'd like you there as well."
 
    He took another sip from his coffee and wondered. Would  Timo be able to 
transport Ian and his people off in time? If there was no vital  intelligence 
on this waystation, why have it self destruct? He tapped the comm  button 
again. Rog said,"Lt. Martin, casualty report. Capt. Mason, when you're  able I'd 
like to see you in my Ready Room."
 
~~Ready Room~~
 
   As he entered the Ready Room, Rog saw he had a message on the  computer. 
When he tapped it, he saw Capt. Westlake of the Apollo on screen. He  
said,"Capt. Westlake, is the Apollo pulling away?" Westlake replied,"Oh yes old  boy. 
Is it true the Rommies have set the station to self destruct?" Rog nodded  and 
said,"Yes, I'm afraid so. Capt. Mason's men tripped something and it set off  
a self destruct sequence as I understand it. We've emergency transported the  
MACO's off the station and are in the process of doing the same with the 
Armory  personnel." Westlake looked back at Rog with a rather dejected look. 
Westlake  said,"The bastards. Did our people find anything useful?" Rog replied,"No, 
I  don't believe so. Joel, this whole thing was a set up from the word go. I 
for  one do not look forward to reporting this to Adm. Batenburg." Westlake  
said,"Quite so old boy. I don't envy you a bit. Westlake out."
 
  Rog sat waiting for his officers to show up and for the waystation  to 
explode. Tapping his comm button he said, "Otto, send some more coffee to the  
Ready Room." He had a feeling they were really going to need that coffee.
