[Galaxy] 2158, Feb 26 - A/CO Duty Log - Cmdr. Roger Finney

~~Meridian Bridge~~
 
  Shortly after the little tactical alert incident ended, an incoming  
message was received. Sanderson said,"Sir, an incoming message from Captain  
Westlake of the Apollo."
 
  Rog looked up and said,"Very well, I'll take it in the Ready Room.  Oh and 
Sanderson try not to set off the tactical alert again." He chuckled and  went 
into the Ready Room.
 
~~Ready Room~~
 
   Rog sat at his desk and tapped the button that would allow the  message to 
come through. A few seconds later the Starfleet logo was  replaced by the 
face of Capt. Joel Westlake of the SCL-09 Apollo. Joel  said,"Hello Finney, how 
are you and the Meridian? I trust the dock rats have  gotten all the water out 
of the old girl."
 
  Rog smiled and said,"Aye sir that they have. I take it that you're  part of 
the task force that I'm to be leading."
 
 Joel replied in his clipped British accent,"That's right old man. The  
Apollo,Venus and the Morningstar as well as the Meridian make up Task Force Rho.  I 
also want to tell you that the mission is a go. As soon as you can get out of 
 that dock, we can be on our way."
 
  Rog nodded and said,"That's excellent news sir. My crew and I are  quite 
anxious to get on with the mission. What are your orders sir?"
 
   Joel looked at him quizzically for a moment and said,"Oh no  old boy, this 
is your show all the way. This op is outside the Sol Defense  Division and 
belongs to the Exploratory Division. So for this op, you Finney are  the man in 
charge."
 
    Rog nodded once more and said,"Very good sir. Once the  Meridian leaves 
space dock, we'll head out in The Alpha Pi pattern. The Apollo  will be flying 
behind Meridian, the Venus at the ten o'clock high position and  the 
Morningstar at the two o'clock high position. Will there be anything else  sir?"
 
  Joel replied,"No old boy. Alpha Pi it is. I shall inform Commanders  
Saglielli and Brooks. Westlake out." The screen went back to showing the  Starfleet 
logo.
 
~~Bridge~~
 
   Rog returned to the Bridge and said,"Sanderson, request  permission to 
leave dock." He tapped the comm button on his chair and  said,"Timo, we're 
getting ready to leave dock, make sure that all is in  readiness." He then looked at 
Dougsdale and said,"Dougsdale, once we get  permission to leave, you may take 
her out. Quarter impulse and once we're far  enough away from the dock, Warp 
4."
