[Galaxy] 2158, May 28 - Cmdr. Tal Pardek (NPC) Duty Log

   Tal stood in the antechamber awaiting an agent of Tal Shiar.  He'd been 
told that he and his Bird of Prey,  I.R.C. 1167 Toravek, were to  be assigned a 
critical mission. What that mission was, he was here to find  out.
Tal had seen the vid their government had put out and was naturally  
incensed. How could the Terrans attack innocent woman and children? The Romulan  Star 
Empire would make them pay for this barbarous act.
 
 Adm. Tomalak stepped out of his office with another man. Upon seeing  the 
admiral, Tal stood at attention. The captain waved his hand and said,"At  ease 
Cmdr. Pardek. As you know the Terrans had the nerve to attack us. Our first  
step in obtaining retribution, will be to sabotage one of their diplomatic  
missions." Tal replied,"Sir, would it not be better to send a fleet to destroy  
one of their outposts?" The admiral smiled and answered,"I like your way of  
thinking commander. However, the Praetor does not agree at this time. So we will  
do something else. May I introduce Sublieutenant Alidar Barel of the Tal 
Shiar.  He will explain your mission. Sublieutenant?"
 
Alidar stepped forward and said,"Admiral, commander, our agents have  learned 
that the Terran Starfleet Command has sent the Meridian under the  command of 
that arch war criminal, Capt. Roger Finney, to Regulus Prime. He is  there to 
pick up Ambassador Sarah Berger and take her to Vulcan. There she is to  try 
to allay the Vulcans fears and keep them in their alliance. Your mission  
commander is to take me and rendezvous with the Meridian. There will be a comet  
passing near them. You will with the use of your cloaking device, hide in the  
comet's tail. When the Meridian nears the comet, perhaps to study it, you will 
 decloak only long enough to beam me aboard. I will sabotage the Meridian, so 
it  will slow down and make them miss their arrival time at Vulcan."
 
  Tal replied,"Sublieutenant, why not sabotage the Meridian and make  it 
explode? What better revenge than to destroy the ship and kill the ones  
responsible for..." Alidar interrupted and said,"Because the Praetor does not  wish it 
at this time. If my sabotage doesn't slow the Meridian sufficiently, I  shall 
poison the ambassadors food, killing her. After I signal you, you will  again 
decloak only long enough to beam me back aboard the Toravek. We will then  
proceed home. Is the mission clear to you Cmdr. Pardek?"
 
 Tal knew better than to argue with a Tal Shiar agent, even one of  lesser 
rank than he was. Tal stood at attention and replied,"Understood." Alidar  
nodded and answered,"Good, then with your permission admiral, I'll be on my  way." 
Adm. Tomalak smiled and said,"By all means Sublieutenant." Tal and Alidar  
then headed to the Toravek.
