Morgan stood there holding the communicator in her hand. She looked at it
briefly and realized that she was about to make a decision that could have
very dire consequences. The problem was, if she didn't they were all going
to die anyway. Activating the jury rigged comm board she opened a channel
and gained an outgoing signal. Audio only, but something was better then
nothing. "This is Commander Rece Morgan. Commanding Officer of the Earth
Starship Yorktown. Identify yourself and state your intentions?"

=\/= This is Commander Chulak, of the Romulan Star Empire. You are
trespassing in Romulan space. Stand down and prepare to be boarded. =\/=

Galorndon Core was half a lightyear outside Romulan space. Putting her hand
on her hip she said, "Trespassing?! I think not. You sir, are the one in
violation of invading. If anyone will be standing down, it will be you."

=\/= Commander Morgan, you are in not position to give orders. With a single
word I can destroy your ship. Surrender now and I'll spare your crew. =\/=

She knew that her ship was not in the best of conditions but having the
Rommulans board was out of the question. Glancing around the room she saw
everyone fast at work, trying to get things running so they could do
something other then sit there and get fired upon. "I've dealt with others
of your type, Commander Chulak. The only thing, that I believe you would
spare my crew from, would be a slow death. Why should I trust you to do
anything but?"

=\/= You shouldn't, but you have no choice. I could just take your ship by
force, breach the hull, space the crew. Would that be a quick enough death
for you, human? =\/=

"I'd rather, we not find that out." Rece said and then looked over to the
makeshift helm, where she saw David looking at her. She mouthed to him and
made a quick hand gesture to go along with it, *'Can we leave?' * She saw
him hold up one finger.

=\/= You will, unless you surrender right this moment. I don't want to
destroy your ship, but I have my orders to defend this sector from invasion.
=\/=
"Well Commander it appears that we have come to an impasse, and that I am
able to go no further than you will allow." She hated what she was going to
say next but if they were going to have any chance at escape, she had too.
"It would seem that you are right and that I have no choice. My ship is far
to damaged and could not withstand many more of your attacks....We
surrender."

=\/= Wise move Commander Morgan. I will send a boarding party to take
command of your ship and secure your crew for transport. =\/=
"Wait Commander." Morgan grabbed hastily for a stalling tactic. "Our
internal communications are out. If... we are to surrender peaceable, I
would ask that you give me a few minutes to inform my crew."

=\/= I give two minutes, for you and your gallant crew =\/=

Morgan slammed the communicator shut, cutting the signal off. Reaching for
the board she toggled a switch, turning off the active external curcitry.
"We've got two minutes or we're going to have unwelcomed visitors for dinner
and we're the ones on the menu." Taking note of the responses she got, she
turned to a nearby semi-functioning workstation. She was lucky it had power
at all. So much of the ship and her systems had been damaged. Not to
mention the fact that the bridge was now cut off from everything, they had
power impairments across the boards and they had nearly nonexsistant
communications.

Working as quickly as she could with the faulty computer, she linked into
the armoury system. Typing out a short text message she sent it, hoping that
someone in the Armoury might still be alive there, and be able to handle it
when the time came. *Romulans Incoming - 2 mins - Hold fire, until we move.
*
