Functionality Report
In may capacity as Chief Engineer aboard the ESS Intrepid, I have
compiled the ship's damage report following the Battle of Xantia.
Please find the relevant information as follows. Included with this
report is a request to the SCE for priority shipyard time, preferably
at either Jupiter Station or at the William Pickering Yards at Luna
for repairs to ESS Intrepid. Request for yard time is being made now
before we arrive as to give the SCE time to gather required components
and prepare for our arrival.
As it stands, due to damage to warp nacelles, Intrepid is, by my
decision, limited to Warp 4.5. Additional strain to warp coils in both
nacelles to maintain this speed will write off an additional 1000
hours of operational time from expected life spans in conjunction with
hours spent at warp speed and the nearly 6000 hours wiped from
expected component life spans due to the actions of the Chief
Engineering Officer during the Battle of Xantia. Chief Engineer is
aware she has written off nearly a year worth of expected life span
from components.
B Deck :
Water Storage Tanks
Assessment - Small fractures in water storage tanks. Have attempted to
seal but can not find leak. Leak seams to be external hull. Water loss
at less then 1/4 cup of water per day at current rate. Will return to
Earth well before levels drop below minimum safe levels. Will require
a team to examine tanks, find leak and seal it.
E Deck :
Fore Starboard Thruster Assembly
Assessment - Asset is a write off. Component is barely giving 5% of
expected power despite repair attempts. Recommend removal and
replacement.
Living Quarters, Escape Pod 15
Assessment - Complete replacement. Chief Engineer's quarters where
breached by plasma beam weaponry, which penetrated through and
rendered useless Escape Pod 15. Entire section and adjacent sections
surrounding (including decks above and below) sealed. Attempts to seal
have proved useless. Suspect undetected breach somewhere in outer and
inner hulls preventing atmospheric seal. Living Quarters of Chief
Enginner completely destroyed.
Mess Hall, Window 3
Assessment - Asset is a write off. Recommend removal and replacement.
Currently sealed with rigged spare hull plate over cracked window to
maintain atmospheric seal. Compartment completely safe at this time.
F Deck :
Port Planetary Sciences Lab
Assessment - Major hull breach resulted in loss of facility. Will
require complete replacement and rebuild. Hull will need to be
replaced as well as we currently lack suitable supplies to seal the
compartment. Major warping in interior bulkheads adjacent to breached
compartment.
Port Aft Torpedo Launcher
Assessment - Repairable with outside assistance. Asset sustained
damage during fire fight that only became apparent during post-battle
damage assessment. Repairable, but resources required for such more
urgently required elsewhere. Will require assistance from dock-hands.
Please find attached a more detailed description of requirements.
G Deck :
Atmospheric Processor
Assessment - Component suffered damage unrepairable completely with
local supplies. Device functioning at 87% of expected values, will
within safety guidelines. Please find attached a more detailed
description of requirements.
Starboard Nacelle:
Four fused warp coils (Coils 1, 5, 8, 12)
Assessment - Assets are write offs. Recommend removal and replacement.
Port Nacelle:
Three fused warp coils (Coils 7, 8, 9)
Assessment - Assets are write offs. Recommend removal and replacement.
Recommendation - Complete removal and replacement of warp nacelles of
ESS Intrepid. It is the opinion of Chief Engineer, Intrepid, that this
will be the quickest option for getting Intrepid back out of dock
hands and free dock slips for other vessels.
