~~Meridian Bridge~~

Rog sat tensely in the captain's chair as they exited the nebula.
Before them was a vast array of Rommie ships. Just as Andre had
reported, it was a mix of BOPS and smaller craft. By smaller, Rog
meant smaller than a BOP, but bigger than the Meridian. Stupid
Vulcans, if they'd only give Starfleet some of their technology, maybe
they'd stand a better chance.

Rog said, "Jonas, Andre report. How close are we to the Rommies and is
our hull polarization holding up?"

"At current speed we should intercept those bastards in two minutes,"
Hunt reported.

Jonas glanced at the screen. The first attack wave had dealt
significant damage to the Romulans, but Starfleet wasn't dealing with
a group of ragtag mercenaries either. They were regrouping, and fast.
Several Romulan ships had fired back. So far the Meridian hadn't been
hit-then again, there were plenty of targets to choose from. It was
only a matter of time. "Minor damage, sir. Nothing we can't scrape off
later."

Rog smiled at his AO's comment. He replied, "Pick a target Mr. Jonas
and let them taste Meridian's torpedoes. I want to see Rommies
destroyed as soon as possible."

"Aye sir." Jonas released another volley, then frowned as his scanners
picked up a Romulan vessel headed right towards them on an intercept
course. It didn't show any signs of slowing either, as though it was
on a death run. "Captain-to our starboard!"

Rog spotted the Rommie. It was one of the smaller vessels. It may have
been fatally damaged and that was the reason for the kamikaze tactics.
Whatever the cause, the Meridian had to get out of the way. He said,
"Andre, evasive maneuver Alpha Gamma 12."

Without hesitation, Andre made a hard left which completely turn the
Meridian to its side. The ship shook slightly at the Romulan vessel
just missed them by a few meters. Getting the ship back in control
the Lieutenant was now facing the direction of their next potential
Romulan victim. "Looks like a pretty tempting target."

Rog smiled and replied, "Good job Andre. Jonas, there's a BOP ahead of
us. Eliminate it."

"Aye Captain," Trevor said, releasing a volley of torpedos. Much to his
satisfication, the Bird of Prey exploded with a bright yellow glow.

As the BOP went careening out of control, Rog looked around for
Challenger. Tapping the comm button, he said, "Damage reports. Andre,
bring us close to the Challenger. I have a bad feeling that those
Rommies aren't done with us yet. Jonas, how are we doing on
torpedoes?"

Braga looked up from his station, and grimaced as the information
flooded in. "Minimum hit on our starboard bow armour, Captain. Three
injuries, pretty light stuff."

Lieutenant Hunt brought the ship back around enroute back to the
Challenger that seemed to have their hands full. They knew from the start that this
would be no easy task. But the Rommies seemed to be swarming all around.
A few of the Coalition ships had begun to fall back already.

Rog said, "Well Andre, it looks like the Rommies have decided to bring
every ship in their fleet here. Heh so many ships so few torpedoes. Thank you
for the damage report Mr. Braga. Keep me informed of any changes."

Rog looked over at Jonas and said, "I say again Mr. Jonas, how are we on
torpedoes? Do we have enough to beat back the Rommies?"

Jonas looked at the screen in concern. "So far, Captain, we have enough to
beat them back. But considering how many there are, sir..." He didn't
finish the thought.

Rog nodded and said, "Well, that'll have to do won't it."
