++ Wang, Bones, status of your departments, please. ++


A thin haze and the scent of ozone filled the engineering bay. Teams of techs ran around in seemingly chaotic patterns addressing various repairs. "Engines! Double check deuterium flow rates!" Yue called out as Andre moved Meridian forward into the pursuit formation.  She wiped at a bead of sweat rolling down the bridge of her nose and pressed the comm button to respond to Rog. "Trying to patch enough hull damage to increase polarization capacity to sixty percent, Captain. Engines and weapons still have full power."

++ Right. Thanks, Yue. ++ 

They were battered and bruised, but not out yet. She examined the status console, which highlighted the patches of hull plating that were the thinnest. Their polarization had failed during the thickest of the fight, allowing the Romulans to inflict some significant impacts. Luckily they hadn't suffered any significant hull breaches. Whatever energy weapons the aliens were using, though, was making the EPS grid quite unpleasant.


Then their luck seemed to change suddenly.


One rumble was quickly followed by a harder one then a third that rocked the Meridian so hard that a crewman was nearly thrown over the railing of the upper catwalk right over Yue's head. Alarm klaxons began to roar as sensors reported damage alerts from all across the forward sections of the ship.

"Romulan disruptors! Numerous impacts! We've lost hull polarization!"

"EPS conduit overloads on all decks!"

"Biaŏzi de érzi!" Yue tapped at her console to bring up various status menus. "Jīngcháng méiyŏngde helmsman is flying us into a damn hell storm!"

"Hull breach, C-deck, compartment 4-113!"

Yue pressed the comm button. "Damage control! Hull breach, C4-113!" As soon as the order left her lips, she flipped the switch to the bridge channel. 

"Wang to bridge! Hull breach on C-deck. Teams responding. Recommend we fire back, Captain!!"
