Liza looked at the latest bio readings from the injured crewmen from the most recent battle.  Things had not been horrible, but there were injuries that needed to be treated.  There were multiple walking wounded.  She tucked a lock of red hair behind her ear and reassured another crewman that everything was going to be okay.  She looked at Nurse Garvin "Get this one ready for surgery.  And find Dr. Guthrie.  I'm going to need his hands as well to finish taking care of the walking wounded."  

Liza walked over to the sink and began scrubbing for surgery, once finished she walked over to the surgical table and once sure that the crewman was indeed unconscious, she began removing the fragments of the console that had penetrated his chest.  She worked slowly and methodically ensuring that she had removed every last piece before cleaning the wound again and closing up the incisions with an autosuture.  

Once done, she sent him to a recovery bed where he would be closely monitored for several hours.  He would be able to be discharged in a day or two without any problems.  She expected him to make a full recovery without any complications.  She continued to work with the other wounded and discharging them as soon as she could.
