Subj: [Meridian] 22 October 2161 Duty Log Lt. Andre Hunt

=Meridian Bridge=

As instructed, Andre Hunt had sent the ship into warp. But as fast as
they traveled the nuclear shockwave seemed to have had ability to catch up on
them. Pushing the engines at warp 5.9, the Lieutenant was sure that
Commander Wang was going to kill him later on for the stress he was putting on
the engines. "I don't think I can keep away from it."

Quickly bracing onto the control panel the ship rocked from the impact of
the shockwave. A couple of people were thrown across the bridge and Andre
found his own head slamming into the helm station. Somewhat dazed and now
bleeding from a cut on the head, Hunt tried his best to regain control of
the Meridian which was now being tossed around by the wave which engulfed
them. Gaining contol of the ship in this mess was futile. It was like
being in a canoe in a raging river.

Sparks were coming out of multiple control panels and fires were starting
in a few places on the bridge. When the Meridian appeared to have cleared
the wave, they clearly had been knocked out of warp. Looking over the
control, he quickly assessed that warp drive was officially offline.

"Captain...Warp drive is offline," Hunt reported. "We still have impulse
though."

If they shockwave had hit them as they were in warp, he could only imagine
the damage that had been done to the Romulan fleet. The only regret was
that they didn't drop those explosives in orbit of that rock they crawled
out, which they referred to as their homeworld. Andre was so concerned about
the Meridian that he had completely forgot that the Challenger had been
caught up in the same shockwave. There was nothing but static on the main
viewer, but hopefully they still had the use of their sensors.
