"The bridge is calling for more power!"
"She doesn't have any more power! We're already at one hundred and five
percent on the reactor!"
"Warp 5.9..."
"Then give me one hundred ten percent!!"
Yue's command was lost in the sudden eruption of chaos as the nuclear
shockwave engulfed Meridian.
The main lighting exploded as an electromagnetic pulse tore through the
EPS grid, which also caused half the consoles on the upper level to overload
and send sparks raining down through the grid work of the catwalks. A
series of large electrical arcs also sprang from the warp core as it's
characteristic blue glow flickered and wavered under the added impulse. The ship
lurched forward, pushed by the impact of the wave, sending a crewman toppling
over the railing of the upper deck above her head.
But like the moment earlier in the battle when said crewman almost fell on
her head but didn't, he didn't come crashing down this time either.
Actually, Yue found herself floating up off of her platform with the crewman
suspended in air above her. The air was filled with the surprised cries of
engineers caught by the loss of their gravitational field.
Trapped in mid-air with nothing to reach for, Yue couldn't do much but
yell. "Report!!"
"We've dropped from warp!"
"Chief Eversam says damage control is already moving to check on the grav
generator."
"At least comms still work..." Yue thought.
