Jimmy heard the call and didn’t  know how he was going to tell the Captain 
and personal friend to the doctor.  “Captain this is Chief Marx I’ll send a 
trauma medic up to the bridge in the  next few minutes as soon as I can 
spare one.” 
“Where’s Doctor Corbett.” Rog  asked tension in his voice 
“We’ve lost him  sir!” 
 
 
 
 
Rog was silent for a  moment. It felt like he'd been punched in the gut. 
How could Bones, his best  friend be dead? There had to be some mistake. He 
said, "Chief, are you sure Dr.  Corbett was killed?" 
Jimmy replied, "As sure  as I can be sir. Some of the crew spotted what 
they believed was a body with a  cowboy hat on it. It..it had to be him sir." 
Rog replied, "Yes, I suppose it  was chief. His luck had to run out at some 
point I suppose. I would guess he was  lost in that hull breach on C Deck, 
is that correct? How many did we lose..when  it happened?" 
Jimmy answered, "Engineering  states we lost four in the  life support 
filtration pump  compartment....besides Stile. He was there treating a seriously 
injured crewman.  The crewman had got caught in the blades system and Stile 
felt he was the best  one available to treat the wound. It was most likely 
going to be an amputation,  but...." 
Rog said, "Yes, yes of course.  Well get back to work Jimmy, Bones would 
want you to think of the patients  first, not him." 
Jimmy replied, "Right sir." He  then went back to work. 
Rog sat in his chair silently  for a few minutes. Just as he got up, the 
trauma medic arrived and he pointed to  Hendriksen. Rog thought, there's a 
ship to save after all.
