=Shuttle Pod 2=

Clearing the shuttle bay,  Lieutenant Hunt piloted the shuttle pod into the 
nebula.  Accompanying  him was Petty Officer Gabrielle Costillo from his 
department and two security  officers that had been assigned to the away team. 
 Their task was a  simple one, but of great importance.  Travel through the 
nebula and  conduct recon of the Romulan Forces that were more than likely 
on the other  side.  The Coalition was depending on them, so Andre was extra 
motivated  to return back from this mission in one piece to tell all about  
it.

Gabrielle  Costillo had been surprised when the Lieutenant had called for 
her to come  along.  She was indeed the youngest in the department and least  
experienced.  So when she asked why she had been chosen, Hunt told her  
that the experience would be great for her.  Looking back at the security  
officers who seemed to be eager and nervous at the same time, the Petty  Officer 
returned her eyes to the from of the shuttle as they as they guided  their 
way through the nebula.  The thought of not being able to  communicate with 
the Meridian from here made her nervous like everyone  else.  But at least, 
she under the leadership of someone she could  trust.  "How many ships do 
suspect we will find...Sir?"

"Hopefully not more than we have  in our own forces," Hunt answered as he 
looked over his shoulder.   "Personally I like having the odds in my favor.  
Anything else makes life  far more difficult."

"I wonder if these Romulans will ever give up," the young woman  sighed.  
"We've been fighting them for years and they just keep  coming.  Is it true 
that no one has ever seen a Romulan?"

"From all reports it appears to be the  truth."

"Probably a bunch of ugly little bastards," said one of  the men in the 
back of the shuttle.  "I look forward to finishing them  once and for all in 
the name of Earth."

Andre couldn't help but  to laugh.  "Well we won't be beating anyone in 
this thing.  Hold  on...I believe that were about to clear the nebula."

Before the  shuttlepod came close to exiting, it went to full stop.  They 
were still  in the nebula, but close enough to the edge to make out what was 
taking place  outside of it.  Considering how small the shuttlepod was and 
the fact  that they weren't looking for it, helped to conceal then even 
better.   From outside the window, they could see over a dozen or so Romulan 
ships  posted up in what clearly a Task Force ready for an invasion.  The nebula 
 was still messing with their sensors for the most part, so they depended 
very  little on their instruments.  And used their eyes to counts the ships 
and  take an inventory on what classes they were.

"Had a feeling that  this wasn't going to be easy for the Coalition," 
Gabrielle  sighed.

"We didn't expect it to be.  But we have a number of  ships here from 
different worlds.  The different experiences and  technology we possess will 
throw the Romulans off.  So I hope at  least.  Let's get back to the Meridian."
