As he sipped his coffee, Rog felt he heard from Katrina's response, a certain lack of emotion or something. He couldn't quite put his finger on it and he resolved to speak to her privately after the debriefing. Katrina arrived a few minutes later and gave Roger a curt nod. She could pretty much guess what this briefing was going to be about. They were going to talk about how Starfleet got bad intel, how the station was a trap, and how they failed to retrieve any useful information. She sat down and waited. Timo was the next arrival, shuffling in the door with a rather tired and disgruntled expression on his face. He was staring intently at a padd, pausing only to address Rog and Katrina with a nod. As if on cue Zoe followed shortly thereafter. "Sir, all other ships acknowledge the retreat order and are heading out with us.", she reported to Roger as she stood near Timo. Rog nodded and said,"Very good Zoe. If Mason was correct we should feel an explosion any time now." Zoe paused for a moment. That was the first time Commander Finney had not addressed her as Sanderson. She shurgged it off without a second thought. Everyone was tired after all. Dr. Martin stepped in. She hadn't time to change and her uniform had some grime and blood on it from all the emergencies the medical team dealt with during the battle. Rog nodded and said,"Doctor Martin, I'm glad you were able to join us. How goes it in Sickbay?" He hoped that Ian and Capt. Mason would arrive soon. "All of the casualties that made it to sickbay are going to recover, most of them fully. We lost 24 in total from all ships and the MACO force Sir.", Odessa reported in a very somber tone. She always hated casualty reports. Katrina looked away. Twenty-four casualties. And what did they gain? Rog nodded, he'd have a time writing those condolence letters. He said, "Thanks for your report. Timo, I trust you had no difficulties in bringing back Ian and his people?" Just then, the ship rocked a bit. Rog said, "Well I'm sure we all know what that was." Zoe shook a little and tripped into Timo's side. "Sorry.", She said as she regained her footing. Timo helped Zoe regain her balance with a nudge, while trying hard not to drop his data padd. He looked at her in a sort of non-verbal "you alright?", then replied to Rog. "I got Ian, Koss, Reese and...Hunter...back on de transporter. Ian said de oders reported from de shuttle." Zoe just nodded to him and straightened up listening to the others. Rog said,"That's good to hear Timo." Where the deuce could Ian and Capt. Mason be he wondered. The door slide open and Ian walked through. Nothing really had to be said since it was written across his face with emotions. "Sorry sar fahr be'n late. I had ta take care of Mistar Huntar's body." He looked down at his black assualt uniform, it was dirt and in disarray. "I didn't hav' time ta clean up... wanted ta get hehr as soon as possible." Rog nodded and replied,"Quite alright Ian. Have a seat. As soon as Capt. Mason arrives, we can get this debriefing started and get back to work." Mason entered the briefing area with an expression that slightly diverged from his usual stoicism and bordered on dour. While his military bearing still carrying him straight and tall, a command presence, his eyes belayed that he was ready to stab someone. "My apologies for being late, Sir," he said with a soldier's precision. That was all he said as he came to parade rest, hands folded neatly behind his back, before the Starfleet officers. Rog nodded and replied, "Not a problem captain, please have a seat. I'm sorry for the losses you and your men suffered. The same goes for you Ian. Now what I'd like to hear is what you and Commander Fraiser found on that waystation. Was there anything useful intelligence or technology wise?" Mason spoke immediately and precisely. "Negative, Sir. We got a look at their systems, learned that our technology can effectively communicate with theirs with little difficulty, but any useful information was already wiped, and the rest was protected from download." He paused, lowering his voice as if it was an effort to speak again, "I don't think I need to tell you that it was an ambush, Sir. They knew we were coming." Rog nodded and said,"Yes captain, we figured that out pretty soon after you arrived on the waystation. Lt. Sanderson discovered the Rommies out going message was on a loop. Thus, we were pretty sure no one was really on the station. However, do you have any thoughts as to where those Rommies were beaming aboard the station from? After our fight with their scouts, Cmdr.Davidson didn't detect any other ships in the area. Of course they could have a base on Theta Ara III I suppose." Mason considered a moment. "I'm not sure they left the station," he said finally. "From what I was able to make out, they were wearing some kind of collar. Something like that usually indicates some form of control or punishment.
