<DIV> Rog was glad that the engines had finally been repaired.
At least they'd been able to keep up with the fleet on the way home. The other
repairs, such as to the hull breach on C Deck, had held. That hull breach had
been among the worst of the damage. It'd cost the ship four good Engineers and
had almost cost him his best friend. Rog was more than glad that Bones had
survived, after all who would he have shared a cigar and tequila with after an
operation. Once the reports were finished, they were sent to the higher ups at
fleet.</DIV>

<DIV> Now they were home, he'd received the invite to the big party
in San Francisco. It was going to be a big one and so Gomez had set out his best
uniform. He had sent out orders to his crew that any who wanted to, could go on
the big transport with other coalition crewmembers. Once he had his dress
uniform on, he gave himself a once over in the mirror. Everything looked
perfect, it had to for something like this. Now, for the big show.</DIV>

<DIV> Once outside the Meridian pod, Rog had joined the other CO's. To say
he was stunned at the size of the crowd, would have been an understatement. He
shook the president's hand, along with other dignitaries. Then, it was time for
the party, but before that could happen, Adm. Brown pulled Rog and Sasha aside.
He listened and was quite curious about the announcement. Still that would be
later on. After the admiral pronounced them the victors, the cheers were
deafening. Once he gave his serious face to the crowd, he turned and smiled at
Sasha. Rog thought, it was good to be on the winning side.</DIV>
