<DIV>-- Cochrane Arena: San Francisco, Earth --<BR><BR> Rog was with
the other CO's for this historic occasion. It had been a long time coming and
only time would tell if it would really work. They had waited for the great
captain to speak and he had not let them down. Rog had never met Capt. Archer
before, but hoped to do so today. He looked at his fellow captains and they
seemed rather pleased with themselves and why shouldn't they? They had
accomplished something that few would've thought possible. Starfleet and its
allies had beaten back one of the greatest enemies that they'd encountered so
far. The only thing that disturbed him about that, was that they hadn't seen
their enemy, not once.</DIV>

<DIV> As he listened to Archer speak, Rog found him to be rather
impressive. He maintained eye contact with his audience and used no aids, to
assist him in his speech. The speech was full of hope for the new alliance and
for the future. Unlike some others, Archer didn't sugar coat things, which was
good. When the speech ended, the applause was deafening. Of course, he found
himself clapping with the others, to the point his hands hurt. Rog didn't care
though.</DIV>

<DIV> The next speaker introduced by Commodore Sheppard was the Vulcan
Ambassador, T'Jan. Rog thought she was an attractive older woman, if you liked
Vulcans that is. She spoke of the Vulcan/Earth relationship at length. Talking
about their non interference policy and how Earth may not care for it, well she
got that right. As she finished, Rog gave her polite applause, but nothing more.
She was followed by other ambassadors.</DIV>

<DIV> Finally, Vanderbilt spoke and gave a nice quote to finish off the
event. As the group broke up, Rog knew that he'd have to get back to the
Meridian. There were many upgrades and repairs to be done. He hoped Yue would be
back aboard to go over these things. Chuckling, Rog knew that Yue would be the
first one back aboard the ship, she didn't strike him as a party person. Well,
he for one wouldn't pass up a party. So, Rog headed for his favorite Irish pub,
ready to toss back a few whiskeys.</DIV>
